Did You Know: There’s a Vinyl Revival at the Nyack Library? The media and listeners of music have coined the phrase Vinyl Revival to describe the renewed interest and increase in sales of vinyl records. In 2007, there was a small increase in sales and in the 2010’s sales have been growing at a fast rate. It’s not just the baby boomers, yearning for their old music medium, who are responsible for the increase in sales, millennials are buying the vinyl records too.

Other Music, beloved East Village record store, to shut down in June: Other Music is going the way of other music stores in Manhattan — shutting down. The East Village record shop, which prided itself on stocking underground and little-known treasures, announced Monday that it will shut its doors June 25. “We beat the tide for a long time,” co-owner Josh Madell told the Daily News. “We’ve been talking about (closing) for years…It’s just gotten harder and harder.”

Now There Are Real, Playable Vinyl Business Cards: We celebrated Record Store Day last month, with vinyl enthusiasts from all over the country checking out their local record establishments. There was live music and special edition releases on sale in stores all around; in honour of a day that celebrates all things vinyl. Now, if you work at a record store (or just really love records) you can order specially printed business cards that are quite legitimately phonographic. Designer and artist Ivan Dilberovic has designed a sample set of business cards for the Croatian Phonographic Association that are fully functional and actually work under a needle.

Radiohead’s New Album Deluxe Edition Features Bonus Tracks, Master Tape, A Moon Shaped Pool arrives on CD and vinyl with 32 pages of original artwork: Radiohead’s new album A Moon Shaped Pool is available digitally right now, and the band have now detailed the album’s physical releases, which are out June 17 and available for pre-order now. In addition to coming out on standard CD and vinyl releases, they’ve announced a special edition that comes with a CD featuring two bonus tracks and a piece of the band’s actual, original master tape from one of the band’s many recording sessions.

Twin Peaks soundtrack set for vinyl release this year: In what has been a hefty wait, the Twin Peaks soundtrack will finally be released on Vinyl this year. Announced back in 2014 with the release date expected for October last year, there has finally been confirmation that the Vinyl release of Angelo Badalamenti’s Twin Peaks soundtrack will be out in the coming months via Death Waltz/Mondo . The news came in the form of a Tweet by Death Waltz Records last week, confirming that the record will be released in August. Only 3 months away! Get keen.
