End of an Ear New Releases

As usual, lots of cool new releases available this week at End of an Ear and other fine local independent retailers. The item that caught my attention this week: “A limited edition three-track 12-inch EP [from the Melvins] featuring a nine-minute cover of the Wipers ‘Youth of America’ on the B-side. None of these tracks have appeared on vinyl prior. Limited to 2,000 copies on silver/gray vinyl.” Click through for the full list.

Black Joe Lewis “Scandalous” CD/LP (Lost Highway) Sophomore album from Austin, TX-based garage soul ensemble.
Bleeker, Alex and the Freaks “s/t” LP (Underwater Peoples) Consists of Alex Bleeker (Real Estate), Matt Mondaile (Real Estate, Ducktails), Martin Courtney IV (Real Estate) and Julian Lynch.
Borghesia “Ljubav Je Hladnija Od Smrti” LP (Dark Entries) Early electronic music group from Ljubljana, Slovenia, created in 1982. They developed their own brand of EBM that combined symphonic synthesizers, funky basslines, military drum beats and harsh, crisp sequenced rhythms that repeat in trance-like loops. Limited edition.
Brave Irene “s/t” 12″ (Slumberland) New outfit fronted by Rose Melberg of Tiger Trap and the Softies.
