TVD Ticket Giveaway: Jack’s Mannequin at the House of Blues, 1/24

If “piano-pop-rock” means anything to you, then chances are you know Jack’s Mannequin. It’s what they do, and they are damn good at it.

What started as a side project for Something Corporate front-man Andrew McMahon, has grown into a full-fledged band. With 3 studio albums, a handful of EPs, and the #1 spot on Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart, Jack’s Mannequin definitely deserves to be on your radar.

Currently making their way across the country in support of the new record, People and Things, Jack’s Mannequin will be headlining a SOLD OUT show at the House of Blues next Tuesday (1/24).

Didn’t grab your tickets? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Released this past October, People and Things, is the third studio album from Jack’s Mannequin. While a powerful pop record, McMahon had this to say about the new album:

“I consider People and Things a relationship record. My goal with many of the songs was to strip away the flowery language and sentiment attached to newer love and replace it with starker, less blinded language about more binding love.” —Andrew McMahon

You can pick up People and Things, along with the The Glass Passenger (2008), on vinyl through their webstore.

The all ages show at the House of Blues (329 N. Dearborn) kicks off at 6:00 PM with special guests Allen Stone and Jukebox the Ghost.

A second night has been added in Chicago, so if you can’t win your tickets here, you can still check out the show on Wednesday (1/25).

For a chance to win a pair of tickets to the SOLD OUT Jack’s Mannequin show next Tuesday (1/24) at the House of Blues, tell us the group that you feel embodies the term “piano rock.” I’m going to go with the Hush Sound on this one.

The winner will be chosen this Friday, 1/20.
