WAR ON DRUGS – Saturday, April 9th @ 4PM
Along with our friends at Secretly Canadian, we are pleased to announce an in-store performance by Philadelphia’s The War On Drugs. Formed in 2005, the band was centered around Adam Granduciel and Kurt Vile and quickly became known for their melding of the guitar attack of Sonic Youth or My Bloody Valentine with the melodic sense and lyrical perspective of Dylan or Springsteen. Vile has since exited the band and the line-up has shifted but the basic sound remains. After an EP and debut full-length in 2008 the band released “Future Weather” last November on Secretly Canadian and have been on the road since, bringing it to the people. Join us for this earlier-than-usual Saturday afternoon in-store. We’re moving beer:30 up an hour too so it won’t be dry!

We’ll have drinks and snacks for you and we’ll all hang out and soak in the psychedelic sounds of Panda Bear. But wait! We’ll also have a copy of the LP and an autographed poster to give away plus some sweet swag for free. Join us after work next Tuesday, April 12.

10% DISCOUNT on Preloved Merchandise EVERY Monday!
To paraphrase Booker T. & The MG’s, Times Is Tight. We know. We’re feeling it too. So to help you out and, hopefully, to help us out, we’d like to try a new concept – the weekly discount. We’re going to start by offering a 10% discount on ALL PRELOVED MERCHANDISE (i.e. used stuff) every Monday from open to close. Come in on Mondays and everything in the store that’s preloved (ahem, used) will be 10% OFF, every Monday (excluding dollar LPs and CDs under $5). If this works, we may apply the concept to other items on other days.
