TVD Ticket Giveaway: Penguin Prison at
Uhall, 12/17

9:30 Club and U Street Music Hall have formed the greatest alliance to hit DC since Ben Ali and chili got together. One of the fortuitous results? 9:30 Club Presents Penguin Prison at UHall, this Saturday, and we’ve got your tickets.

Chris Glover, otherwise known as the New York disco prince Penguin Prison, released his self-titled debut album in October via Downtown Records. However, you may know him from his remixes of Ellie Goulding, Goldfrapp, Passion Pit, The Temper Trap, and many others.

Last month, he made headlines with his “Don’t Fuck With My Money”video, which was filmed at #OWS. It juxtaposes cheerful protest scenes and buoyant synthy beats with the lyrics “You fuck with my money, oh. You’ll be sorry, no…” and “You better start to run if it happens again.”

He told Idolator,

“I wrote and recorded “Don’t F*** With My Money” some time before the Occupy Wall Street protest began but I felt that some of the lyrics reflected the sentiments that a lot of people have right now, ” Glover says. “Inspired by OWS and by the other protests that have sprung up all over the world, I decided to film a video for ‘Don’t F*** With My Money’ at the Occupy Wall Street March that went from Zuccotti Park to Times Square.”

For your chance to win a pair of tickets to see Penguin Prison on Saturday, tell us who’s fucked with your money lately?

My student loans just went up—again—so I’m calling STUDENT LOANS.

The winner will be chosen on Wednesday (12/14) at noon.
