TVD Ticket Giveaway: Regina Spektor at the Lyric Opera House, 10/2

So, who wouldn’t fall in love with quirky girls who look like Kristen Schaal on a good day and write piano tunes that would make Elton John nervous?

People who haven’t heard of Regina Spektor. The anti-folk rebel is coming to The Lyric Opera House on October 2nd, and we’ve got tickets to give away to two lucky fans. Tickets for the show will go on sale this Friday, Aug 17th, at 10 AM through Ticketmaster, but we’ve got your chance to win a pair of tickets before you can even buy them. If you enjoy amazing songwriters that have more charm than Emma Stone, this is something you definitely don’t want to miss.

Since she began her rise to fame in the early 2000’s, Spektor has been winning fans the world over with her own cup of strange and obscure, yet enduringly sweet pop music. The Moscow transplant acquired worldwide acclaim from her 2006 album Begin to Hope and its resulting single “Fidelity” and kept her following coming back with 2008’s Far, another out-there yet accessible spoonful of educated pop.

This year marks the release of her sixth album What We From the Cheap Seats, an odyssey into past songs and old melodies that Spektor has reworked. The songstress has been tearing through the states promoting the collection of aged ideas that have been freshly spun and lands at the Lyric this fall.

So how can you score tickets to seeing the relentless charm of Regina Spektor? It’s simple! In the comments below, tell us your favorite artist with a lot of charm.

Since I’m a sucker for girls who like to cover classy Christmas songs, I’m going to go with Zooey Deschanel.

The winner will be chosen at noon on Wednesday, August 15th.
