One wonders just what it takes for both the New York Post and Time Out New York to pronounce Escort NYC’s “best live band,” but the Brooklyn-based purveyors of contempo-disco have certainly swayed more than a few with a sound rooted in the days of Warhol’s Studio 54, yet as modern as they come as throbbing dance floors and raves attest:

Now, they say that blogs and sites such as TVD are tastemakers, but that’s not always the case, you know. We can suggest a band and follow up with the heaps of praise awarded said band—but it’s you guys who pop by daily who are the true arbiters of taste.
Escort plays DC’s The Hamilton this Thursday night, 10/25—and wouldn’t you know, we have a pair of tickets to award one of you.
