TVD Ticket Giveaway: Toad the Wet Sprocket at the 9:30 Club, 11/7

Usually recognized for their outlandish band name (it’s actually a Monty Python reference), Toad the Wet Sprocket have been back at work as a full-time band since December of 2010.

With a new record titled New Constellation under their belt, the quartet of lead vocalist Glen Phillips, guitarist Todd Nichols, bassist Dean Dinning, and drummer Randy Guss are back on the road touring in support of the new studio effort.

On tour promoting the new record, Toad the Wet Sprocket are making a stop at 9:30 Club, and we have a pair of tickets to give away.

Toad the Wet Sprocket achieved chart success in the nineties with tracks such as “Walk on the Ocean,” “All I Want,” “Fall Down,” and “Something’s Always Wrong.” Breaking up in 1998, it wasn’t long before they were back together playing short sets in smaller venues around the United States. In December of 2010, they made the commitment to being a band full-time once again.

New Constellation has received positive reviews since its release. In a four out of five star review for WhatCulture!, reviewer Michael Perone described the album’s tracks as having “a sunny pop sheen reminiscent of their home state’s weather,” and that “it’s difficult to get any of the melodies out of your head.” In a review for AllMusic, reviewer Fred Thomas said that band is “Older, wiser, and with a newfound hopefulness that wasn’t there in their younger days.”

For a chance to win tickets to tomorrow night’s show, tell us in the comments below, your favorite track from the nineties. My choice is “1979” by the Smashing Pumpkins.

A winner will be chosen at noon tomorrow and must confirm the tickets by 3PM for the show that night. Tickets are still available.
