TVD’s The Idelic Hour with Jon Sidel

Greetings from Laurel Canyon!

So go and live a little / Bone turns brittle / And skin withers before your eyes / Make sure you give a little / Before you go to the great unknown sky

Some will beg for forgiveness / From Someone above / For something they did / To someone they love / Some scream like a baby / Some go out crying / Some bid the world goodbye / And welcome to die

Who doesn’t love a song that time seems to have forgotten? Well, most people! Personally I’m always looking for a gem hidden in plain view. I’m not sure if Sturgill Simpson or Damien Jurado are modern-day Jake Holmes, but these are the cats I dig in on.

My old lady told me the city of LA is seeding clouds with silver iodide today. I’m not sure how I feel about it but I sure wish someone seeds Visions Of Us On The Land, Jurado’s latest vinyl. I’d love to see it pour down heavy with Jurado songs. As Clarence Carter points out, “Do Wat You Gotta Do.”

By the way, is that what Donald Trump is thinking as he smirks and ridicules? Look at that guy and that fucking hair! That “rug” makes me think out loud…

Why is he running for president? It really doesn’t seem like he loves his country—or anyone for that matter. Will “it” be never enough?

Well, here in the canyon, the rain drops will likely be thick. Best to cover all the BBQ’s.

The Idelic Hit of the Week: Damien Jurado – Lon Bella

Is the BBQ on or off?
