TVD’s The Idelic Hour with Jon Sidel

Greetings from Laurel Canyon!

(I’ve got to say that these chilly California winter nights make for a quick and loose Idelic Hour session—and for shorter intros, ha!)

I’ve been fucking zooming into 2018 and this week I needed deep breaths and a prayer or two to keep one foot in front of another. All is good, but 2018 feels like some serious shit.

As we all know the Gov shut down this past week. Hold on—the fucking Government of the United States shut down? Sounds pretty punk rock to me? (Well, maybe not.) Hey let’s have inspiration, not negativity, own the day.

And the women! They took to the streets and marched. Holy shit, how cool was that? These chicks are ramping up and organizing and watch the fuck out! I for one am stepping aside and then following! Power to the pissed off broads—let’s go!

Wednesday, all of this found me buzzing and digging through punk rock records looking for late ’70s favorites. Rutts, Dies, Stiff Little Fingers, Gang Of Four, Black Flag, and The Saints. Digging up roots man!

Yeah girls, burn down Babylon! Dudes let’s march! “Solidarity!”

The Idelic Hit of the Week: Unknown Mortal Orchestra – American Guilt

In solidarity to all the women who marched. Lead the way! #idelicsounds
