NirvanaHormoaning UMe – 12″ – 4000 copies – This EP was originally released in Australia, this is the first time it has been released in the U.S. Includes 4 covers: Devo’s “Turnaround“, “Molly’s Lips” and “Son Of A Gun” originally by The Vaselines and “D-7” originally by The Wipers. Also includes “Aneurysm” and “Even In His Youth“, originally b-sides for the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” single.

of MontrealThe Past is a Grotesque Animal Polyvinyl – LP – 1000 copies – The A-side features the album version of “The Past Is a Grotesque Animal” from 2007’s Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? at 45 RPM! The B-side is a new version of “The Past Is a Grotesque Animal” that was made for the Spike Jonze short film “I’m Here” in which a fake robot band called The Lost Trees perform the song. The song was re-envisioned by of Montreal chief musician Kevin Barnes, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ guitarist Nick Zinner, and members of the Moonrats.

Side A is an instrumental jam culled from the third show of a sold out three-night stand at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA. Side B is an especially exotic soundcheck from Hartford, CT in 2009.

Pink Floyd London 66/67 Snapper Music – 12″ white vinyl – 1500 copies – The classic Syd Barrett-era Floyd at their most adventurous and exploratory, London 1966/1967 features two rare performances, including an explosive 17 minute version of “Interstellar Overdrive“, recorded at the legendary Sound Techniques studio in early 1967. These first ever studio recordings from the classic 1960’s Pink Floyd line-up are now available on a limited edition 180 gram white vinyl version in a gatefold cover, with printed inner sleeve.

The Luyas / Twin Sister – SPLIT – Dead Oceans – 7″ – 1500 copies – The Luyas and Twin Sister are close friends and mutual admirers, and what better way to celebrate their kinship than have each of them take up the side of a 7″ single. Both songs on this 7″ are exclusive to the release. Twin Sister’s song “Meet the Frownies” was recorded for the ongoing Weathervane Music project, while the Luyas contribute the exquisite pop song, “When I Am a Woman.” Both bands enchant us with their space-age pop leanings, and together these two songs make up a perfect double A-side of sonic greatness.

The B-side’s “I Won’t Be Long” is from the same recording sessions as Share The Joy and is exclusive to this release. Both songs were recorded by Jarvis Taveniere of the Brooklyn combo Woods.

Wild Flag – Future Crimes Merge – 7″ – 1200 copies – The hotly anticipated debut release from the new musical partnership between Carrie Brownstein, Mary Timony, Janet Weiss and Rebecca Cole will be released in 7-inch form on Record Store Day! Produced by Spoon’s Britt Daniel, these tracks have already become viral hits through widely circulated videos taken during the band’s recent tour dates.
