Show of the Week: Victor Wooten at the Howlin’ Wolf tonight, 10/3

The Five-time Grammy®-winning musician brings his captivating band to the Warehouse District. Naughty Professor opens. Doors are at 8:00 PM. His “second” bassist, Anthony Wellington, will lead his acclaimed bassology clinic Wednesday at noon in the Howlin’ Wolf Den.

Wooten, best known for his work on bass guitar with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Stanley Clarke, and Dave Matthews, is touring in support of two new CDs he released on his own VIX Records on September 25, 2012.

Continuing in his unique fashion of delivering musical innovation and thought-provoking compositions, Wooten’s Words and Tones, is a collection of 14 tracks (12 new original tracks and 2 cover songs) featuring female vocalists. Sword and Stone is an instrumental CD that showcases the different sides of Wooten’s approach to music, performance, and songwriting.
