This new holiday event promises a wonderful trade. You bring a new toy to donate, and you get to hear free music.
The Guardians Institute, an organization that is a prime mover in getting kids to read, will distribute toys for children in the Mardi Gras Indian community. The musical entertainment includes two brass bands, the Lagniappe and the To Be Continued.
A special highlight will be an appearance by Big Chief Brian of the Guardians of the Flame Mardi Gras Indians with the TBC. He is the grandson of the legendary Big Chief Donald Harrison, Sr. whose family started the Guardians Institute.
