Anders Osborne kicks off the weekly event from 5-8 PM tonight. Colin Lake opens with his band. The concert is in the Central Business District in Lafayette Square.
Someone mentioned this past weekend that he measures the seasons in New Orleans with the festival calendar. Spring starts when Wednesdays at the Square kicks off, and summer begins when the series ends. Fall starts when Harvest the Music begins their annual series. It works for me!
The rest of the schedule for the spring series looks great and the full lineup is here. Of particular interest is Col. Bruce Hampton on March 20, Eric McFadden with Bernie Worrell, Luther Dickenson, Eric Bolivar and Robert Mercurio on April 24, and the Meters Experience featuring Leo Nocentelli on May 1. Interestingly, the headliner for the season finale on May 22 has yet to be determined.
