TVD Live: Vivian Girls at Baby’s All Right, 3/2

PHOTOS: CARLY SUSMAN | On Saturday and Sunday night, Vivian Girls played their last two farewell shows. Although Vivian Girls originally planned to only have one last show in New York, they added a second and official last show after the first one quickly sold out.

The second-to-last show on Saturday was at Death by Audio with opening acts Juan Wauters and Waxahatchee. The official last show on Sunday was at Baby’s All Right with opening acts Potty Mouth and Shellshag.

Vivian Girls Katy, Ali, and Cassie chose small venues for their last two shows to give a proper, warm goodbye to their fans. They began the show on Saturday by running to the stage through the crowd and played some of their most popular songs, such as “I Have No Fun” and “The End.” Fans were able to sing along to “Before I Start to Cry” as teary-eyed Vivian Girls played it for their last time.

Sunday, too, was a teary-eyed yet inspiring performance. Fans didn’t let damp eyes hold them back from dancing and crowd-surfing. Vivian Girls played a great set between rounds of Fireball shots, in which drummer Ali Koehler’s mother also indulged.

Check out photos from Sunday as we say goodbye to this fantastic group and wish these ladies luck on their future musical endeavors.
