TVD Vinyl Giveway: Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Tape Club

…and it’s autographed!

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin formed approximately 10 years ago. Over the course of those years, they’ve released three studio albums, but that doesn’t mean that’s all they’ve recorded. Thanks to their new release, Tape Club, you can hear 26 never-released songs carefully curated to reflect the band’s musical evolution over the years.

Tape Club makes its debut on the shelves of your local record store today, and guess what? We’re giving away an autographed copy of the vinyl LP. Just tell us about your favorite SSLYBY show and why in the comments below.

We’ll choose one winner next Tuesday, 10/25. Winner must have a mailing address in the continental US or Canada.

Banned (By The Man) because it was the first song I ever saw them perform live, and that ended up being one of the greatest nights of my life. I immediately fell in love with them, and as soon as I got home the next morning, I bought so much of their music.
Banned is just a great song that I can relate to because I’m growing up, and that’s pretty much what the song means to me.

Think I Wanna Die is where it all started for me. It was the first song I heard from SSLYBY and from there I was absolutely hooked! From the sound of the song, you wouldn’t think the lyrics are so emotional. I have a feeling a SSLYBY vinyl would be magic.

wow!! Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin is definitely one of my favorite bands!!!! Brooms album was just so good to me when i found the band in 2007! so hard to choose!! I have to say “Made to Last” (reminds me of the time when I use to be young and blissful, nowadays its different…plus I find bittersweet songs are deep) and “My terrible Personality” (“potatoes turn into fries” haha!! but yah :P)

If I got this vinyl… it would make me incredibly ecstatic!!! my parents don’t believe in buying music – how ridiculous! so I’m deprived of vinyls. and I have fallen in love with them months ago. certainly have two vinyls, that 1 is antiques that I had to work for & 1 is a 7″ that is really absolutely adorable!!! I’m so grateful for these!! hahaha thanks for reading and giving me this chance to win a vinyl!!!

It was April 2009 and I went to NY to visit my distant family relatives
that I never see anymore since childhood years since I live in the south US. My
cousin, Jimmy, had gotten tickets for show from Mercury Lounge I think. I’ve
only ever been to 1 live show. and SSLYBY was absolutely, fabously fantastic.

“Anne Elephtant” was sooo good! my god they blew me away! Phil,
and John Robert’s vocals are beautiful and right on spot as on records. The
band just complimented eachother/fit together so well, and it was my first time
ever seeing an indiepop band live. SSLYBS will alway be my transition to indie
pop bands. like a light to another unknown world, I wish people would have told
    me about them earlier!

Visiting my aunts and, there was a show of SSLYBY Chicago, IL. Great great live. “Oceanographer” was played (FAVORITE song) and I remember me asking my older cousin about it, and they told me it was indiepop. And thus my love started with SSLYBY into many others. I’m so glad I went on vacation with my cousins to Chicago. Gorgeous town too. I give my thanks to John, good man.
