TVD’s The Idelic Hour with Jon Sidel

Greetings from Laurel Canyon!

Welcome to 2014 and the first installment of this year’s Idelic Hour. Ever since my nightclub days I’ve loved the dark calm of early January. I remember thinking, “amateurs go home, this is pro time.”


Indeed there is nothing yet to say about the “Idelic state of affairs.” For now, the year 2014 is a cold no man’s land. Later in the month we will watch the seed of ’14 grow into an embryo.

In the meantime I’m using this first episode of The Idelic Hour as inspiration to lead me thru the tundra of January and into the sun of this mighty year! The set is a mix of some of my favorite, classic cuts from the last year, mixed with some of the best of 2013 I may have missed in my year-end Top 20.

Enjoy number #1—it can be the best or loneliest.
