TVD Video Premiere: Remembering August, “Brother”

“Brother” by coed duo Remembering August makes a strong play for the ultra-modern UK pop sneaking up the US charts.

We have the pleasure of premiering the video for “Brother,” which is a bit of a day in the life of star-crossed lovers, following the ups and downs of their tumultuous romance—the main obstacle being jealousness. There is a deep compassion imbued in the song’s soaring chorus which would lend its power to any kind of emotional scene, but does a proper job providing closure for our two sparring lads.

Though the two principal songwriters, Jessie Hallett and Luke Searle, claim the influences of Bruce Spingsteen and Stevie Nicks’ ilk, there are very few “retro” vibes to be found on their debut EP which was recorded in an isolated lodge, deep in the wooded valleys of South Wales. Its heart wrenching melodies and larger than life hooks are tailored by the dramatics of young love and infused with expansive, cinematic production that brings their soulful songs to life.
