Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? is of Montreal’s landmark 2007 album. The album defined of Montreal’s career and continues to be hailed as a classic. Pitchfork called the album “Ceaselessly fascinating and inexhaustibly replayable,” honoring it with “Best New Music” and placing it in the Top 5 albums of 2007 (and later, the #63 album of the 2000s). Hissing Fauna was included on dozens of “Best of 2007” lists and is currently Polyvinyl’s all-time best selling album to date.
For the 10-year anniversary of the release, on June 30 Polyvinyl is proud to be issuing an updated vinyl version of Hissing Fauna, pressed on 180-Gram Red and Yellow vinyl and packaged in a triple gatefold jacket with a brand new large format 12” x 12” booklet featuring lyrics and additional artwork.
The reissue also includes the complete companion EP, “Icons, Abstract Thee” (one track of which was not included on the original pressing), a full-album WAV/MP3 download code, and videos of “She’s a Rejecter” and “Faberge Falls For Shuggie” filmed live at the Avalon in Los Angeles.
