TVD Vinyl Giveaway: Phil Collins, Take A Look At Me Now Collector’s Edition, LP Box Set

Musician, songwriter, producer, arranger, vocalist—Phil Collins does a myriad of things exceptionally well—but he’s clearly poor at one thing: retirement. A career hiatus doesn’t seem to be sitting well with Mr. Collins. In fact, he’s on stages once again performing as a tour seems to be looming, and he’s gone back through his own solo discography to shed some new light on his own catalog.

We have the first 2 LPs among a slate of reissues presently in stores—Face Value and Both Sides Now—to ship off to one of you in a handy box set. First, some official details:

“Warner Music is celebrating Phil Collins’ solo career all through 2016 with the ‘Take A Look At Me Now” retrospective campaign. During the year, the label is releasing deluxe, expanded, and remastered editions of all Collins’ storied solo albums.

Each release includes a remastered version of the original album on audiophile vinyl, and expanded 2-CD sets with a bonus disc of select demos and b-sides, and plenty of live versions of the featured songs—something Collins has said he hopes gives fans a chance to see how to the music developed over time. Collins has updated the old album covers with contemporary photos of himself.

In addition to the individual albums, there are also special LP and CD Collector’s versions, where fans can fill the boxes with the various releases as they are released all year.

The campaign launched in January with Both Sides Now and Face Value albums, followed by Hello, I Must be Going and Dance Into the Light in February. Remastered and expanded versions of Testify and the 12 million-selling No Jacket Required are due April 15.”

Enter to win Face Value and Both Sides Now in a handy box set by simply citing your favorite Phil Collins solo release in the comments below, and briefly—why. We’ll choose one winner for the box set with a North American mailing address a week from today, Friday March 25, 2016.

Face Value is my favorite Phil Collins solo release, no question. I love In the Air Tonight (rejected Genesis tune) and The Roof is Leaking. The album retains a bit of an edge to it, in comparison to his subsequent recordings.

I would have to say Face Value because of “In the air tonight” and “I missed again” … two great songs and In the Air Tonight is epic and timeless.

Yea… Face Value. Just an epic.. breakaway from Genesis! Plus love that this re-release they re-shot the album cover!

No Jacket Required Reissue…because I thought the album cover was smart.

  • amcrebelfan .

No jacket required it filled my car for a whole summer. First love was a huge fan and made me one too. She got away from me because of my insecurities but I still have Phil. Luckily I learned my lesson and found my soul mate. She loves Phil too, it brings back fond memories of a girl who taught me a lesson that gave me the best wife I could ever dream of.
