‘A Hundred Lovers’ – Stand Up Against Heart Crime

Stand Up Against Heart Crime began life in 2009 as a solo bedroom project with Josep Xortó composing and producing lo-fi, wispy dream-pop from his house in London.

Shortly after he teamed up with old friend Arnau Obiols and the pair joined forces with Miki Mestres (guitar) and Jordi Moraleda (synth) and the band line-up was complete.

The guys quickly recorded their eponymously titled demo, and in the summer of 2010 Diesel selected their track, ‘A Hundred Lovers’ from it to front their ‘Be Stupid’ campaign. The tune was duly mastered by Robert Harder, a rather snappy corporate video was commissioned and shot and the track got its global digital release under the artist name of “Josep”

At the end of 2010 the boys decided to flee the UK and headed back home to Barcelona to prepare for their first album. Almost immediately they landed, they brought in visual producer Borja Lee Voyeur whose incorporation into the unit has added an extra dimension to their live set.

Stand Up Against Heart Crime have recently been seen supporting Crocodiles and Porcelain Raft in Spain and are currently putting together the finishing touches to their new single due later in the year.

Check out their fresh and new video for the track, ‘A Hundred Lovers’… as explained here by Josep..

“I wrote it thinking of an MDMA party
the wizard is the dealer
the candle is us
the powers are the drugs
the warmth is the high…”
