The Story of “Power”
by La Torre

“Power” is not a new track, having been written back in 2008. At the time, Producer and Remixer La Torre (otherwise known as Tom) took it to a few labels and got some very positive feedback, but the time wasn’t quite right for a full release and the track was temporarily shelved.

Then in 2009 Tom took on a Publishing role at a globally renowned house label and the corporate world took over. “To be honest,” says Tom, “I became too busy to focus on producing and just sat on all the music I had already written.”

But in the summer of 2010 he got chatting to an old mate who runs a mastering studio who offered to give the track a bit of a clean-up, and the result of that session was sent over to Sasha, who Tom had previously worked with at top DJ agency, Excession.

A couple of months later La Torre discovered that Sasha had been playing “Power” frequently along with another track of his, “J’ai Essaye (No Comprende)” which also appeared in a live recording of Sasha’s Ministry Of Sound DJ set.

Since then Tom’s profile has been raised substantially, bringing him to the attention of Norman H who has released the track—along with 5 great remixes—on his label, Stripped Digital. Added to the great filip, La Torre’s tunes have received from the Sasha connection, “Power” is now getting support from Richie Hawtin, John Digweed, King Unique, and Omid 16b to name but a few.

You can check out the Original Mix here and the full release with the 5 remixes is available digitally now.
