UK Artist of the Week: Neils Children

Some of you may already be familiar with Neils Children. The band have been around for a while and around the mid ’00s they appeared in many a mag and online. The band supported The Horrors, Bloc Party, and the Klaxons, but then they seemed to disappear for a bit. However, Neils Children are now back with their forthcoming album Dimly Lit and this time they mean business.

With their latest album, they’re harnessing a sound that crosses the line between shoe gaze and vintage rock, and there are elements of Tame Impala, The Besnard Lakes, and a little Woods too. The tracks flit between trippy and uptempo with the band showcasing a sound that’s more cerebral than your straight-up indie band.

Neils Children have come far since their inception back in 2000 and with Dimly Lit out on French label Boudoir Moderne, we hope they’re here to stay.
