The Loom Release Debut Album Teeth, 11/1

What is next for the world of music? Are we doomed for a time where auto-tuned atrocities are all that we can find on the radio waves, or is there still hope? Ladies and Gentlemen, that hope is the The Loom, and they bring the saving grace of folk.

Out of Brooklyn, The Loom is currently on tour for their debut album Teeth, due out November 1st, from Crossbill Records. This five-piece band promises to take you on a journey as they sings songs of the depressing, but hopeful, transition into the thing we all fear most: Adulthood.

Teeth is all about the time that we have left to make a mark on this thing we call society. Our teeth last longer than any other part of us once we all go to that big rock venue in the sky—so what do we do with that remaining time?

For The Loom, this tour is about spreading a message. That message is that through regrets and renewals, we can all live life as joyful as we want. Don’t lose sight of the hope and joy that makes the day go by.

As the track “The Middle Distance” tells us, “This is for the ones who still have joy inside their hearts—may you always find it where you don’t have to look.” Sure, some of us might look at that with cynical eyes, but for The Loom, it’s about ignoring those eyes and keeping the beauty of folk alive.

With large sounds created by everything from crashing cymbals to french horns and trumpets, The Loom brings a unique vibe. Teeth will captivate you with loud and driving sounds one track, and somber and tranquil the next.

If you take anything from Teeth, take a sense of hope and happiness that while the world may seem like a dark and dreary place, it is only that if you make it. Re-energize, revive, and hey—just go see them live to make it happen!

The Loom will be hitting Panchos on 11-11-11, so don’t miss out! Not in Chicago? No problem. Check below for a full list of tour dates.
