TVD Recommends:
The Jezabels at Lincoln Hall, 11/19

I see London, I see France, I see… Australia? Australian quartet The Jezabels will be landing in Chicago on 11/19, to play Lincoln Hall.

Hailing from Sydney, and originally from Byron Bay, The Jezabels have been lighting up the world with their impressive sounds and theatrics, quickly gaining an international fan base.

The Jezabels | Endless Summer

Celebrating the end of their EP trilogy (The Man is Dead, She’s So Hard, and Dark Storm), The Jezabels are welcoming their latest creation, Prisoner, to their growing discography.

The Jezabels’ latest album, Prisoner, is in the same vein as their previous efforts. Even with an onslaught of label offers, the band has continued to release their music independently and maintain their indie vibe. The album has everything from swelling melodies and amazing hooks, to lyrical intensity offered from the view of a prisoner sent out in letter form.

Consisting of Hayley Mary on vocals, Heather Shannon on keyboards, Sam Lockwood on guitar, and Nik Kaloper on drums, The Jezabels have a vibe of perfect balance.

Formed almost out of necessity, Heather and Hayley had newly arrived in Sydney when Sam signed them up for a musical competition and pulled Nik out of thin air to keep the rhythm. They won the competition and from there, as they often say, is where our story began. With the air of nonstop creation and musical reconciliation, The Jezabels have been on a musical adventure ever since.

Prisoner offers its listeners a little something different on almost each track. From echoing cathedral like sounds to the instrumental interludes/peace of mind, there is something for everyone on this album.

If you are digging The Jezabels sound and need to experience them in person, then look no further. They will be gracing the Windy City with their presence on 11/19 at Lincoln Hall with co-headliner Hey Rosetta!. The 18+ show starts at 10pm and costs $12. Not in Chicago? No problem.
