TVD 24-Hour Ticket Giveaway: They Might Be Giants at the 9:30 Club, 11/26

They Might Be Giants! Yeah!

It’s been two decades since the release of TMBG’s Flood; while not their first, it has proved to be the favorite and perhaps the most resounding of their albums. They made us feel a little bit cooler for being nerds, and we may have attempted to make our class presentations slightly more interesting with the use of their songs—it was unsuccessful, by the way, because no fourteen-year-old cares about the content of the Sun.

I’m sorry. But, at least you tried! I bet you got an A.

Moving on. You probably have a kid now, or perhaps nieces and nephews, and in your effort to make spending time with them more enjoyable (less annoying), you’ve probably bought one of TMBG’s children’s albums. They are great—all of them, and they totally trump listening to Kidz Bop or whatever is on Disney radio these days.

They have a new album, it’s not a children’s album, it’s for adults—but it’s not smutty. It’s for polite adults who look down on smut and enjoy watching the Discovery Channel and World War II specials on the History channel. The album is called Join Us, and I totally thought it was going to be another kids’ album via references to circle time, etc., BUT it’s not!

We have a pair of tickets to give away to their show this Saturday (11/26) at the 9:30 Club. So, YOU, post-overwhelming Thanksgiving festivities, will need a break from the food, and your Aunt Marla, and we’d like to help you out.

In the comments, tell us who you will take and your favorite song by TMBG.

You have until noon tomorrow to submit.
