Bringing it on home.
TVD Ticket Giveaway: Social Distortion at the 9:30 Club, 11/6 or 11/7

Social Distortion has been writing and performing great music for over three decades, and you can now be a part of their legacy.

They will be performing at 9:30 Club in November, on the 6th and 7th, and TVD is giving away a pair of tickets to see one of the shows.

From our glowing review last winter, Social D “is currently experiencing a career high in terms of commercial success. When Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes was released early last year, it reached number 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, marking Social Distortion’s first ever Top 10 album and highest ever peak on that chart in their entire 32 year career.”

And we concluded, “Bottom line here? Social Distortion were impeccable. A rock n roll show for the ages not too be missed.”

Don’t forget, DC—this week TVD celebrates you with ticket giveaways that will be announced every day, including one each day from 9:30 Club for recently announced shows that have just gone on sale. Don’t miss your chance to catch some amazing performances.

Don’t miss out! In order to win your pair of tickets to the show, tell us, in the comment box below, your favorite Social Distortion song from their very long career as musicians.

We are calling “I Was Wrong.” Don’t even think about it.

The winner will be chosen at noon on Friday, June 15th and will choose which date he or she would like to attend to see Social Distortion.

Gotta go with Ball and Chain.  It’s simple yet so damn heartfelt.

I Was Wrong has always been my fav as well. Mike Ness’s version of Don’t Think Twice is a close second.

“It’s The Law” off of Prison Bound  That whole album has such a great atmosphere.

First time my sister did something nice for me was when I was ten, and just really starting to listen to rock music.  She had just gotten the new (at the time) Social Distortion album and played “Story of My Life” for me.  I’d never heard something like that before and must have listened to that song 50 times before I even went on to the rest of the album.  I just remember it required a lot of stopping the tape and rewinding.

I missed Social D last time they came around but saw Mike Ness play Rams Head. I would love to win these tickets & take my son to see SD play live. I assure you we would never forget it. Favorite song? That’s tough but I’ll go with “Born to Lose” from “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell.” Thanks for the opportunity. I know these shows are going to sell out quickly!

Cool no one has taken mine yet! So I’ll go with “Sick Boys”! What more can I say, just love this song. There are so many great Social D songs though!

“Bad Luck” is my fave – or *one* of my faves. It takes me back to Spring Break of ’92. Awesome!

Mommy’s Little Monster.  First Social D song I ever heard.

    Ball And Chain

There’s a ton of Social D songs I love, but I’m going with their cover of the Clash’s “Death or Glory” from the Lords of Dogtown soundtrack.  I put it on a setlist at a party once and surprised an old friend, who’s a big Social D and Clash fan, but had never heard this version!
