Grooves Shared: PanopticonNYC

Since we’re all a tight-knit music-lovin’ community, we created this segment so that some of our good friends who are doing good things in the industry of human happiness could share the records that they’ve been diggin’ on lately.

Our second edition of Grooves Shared comes from PanopticonNYC’s Chris Piazza, whose Panopticon360 webseries captures local bands in live settings via absolutely amazing 360-degree panoramic video.

PanopticonNYC is home to the webseries Panopticon360, an original live music web series created and directed by founder Christopher Piazza. The show shoots bands at live shows or in recording studios using 360-degree panoramic video cameras. The show has shot with a number of acclaimed and eclectic bands including DD/MM/YYYY, Drunken Sufis, Endless Boogie, Home Video, La Otracina, Pterodactyl, Tombs, Weird Owl, and Zs.

Chris Piazza also directs music videos and shoots live concerts as a camera operator. He has directed music videos for Eclectic Method, Dinosaur Feathers, Neil Halstead, and more. As a camera operator he has been on stage with bands that are legendary (Robert Plant, Elvis Costello, The Roots), massively popular (Beyonce, Foster the People, Lil Wayne) and up and coming (Portugal the Man, Deerhunter, Wild Flag).

He also maintains a blog with commentary on live shows, music videos, records and film.

And now for some recent album selections that PanopticonNYC’s Chris Piazza is sharing with us today!
