Van Halen Jumps
Back In…

…and Everybody Wants Some!

But only very few, approximately 250, actually got some last night at Cafe Wha? in the Village where Van Halen put on a stripped-down (but thank god, not acoustic) show to start the buzz for their upcoming new studio material. The new album, due out February 7th, is titled A Different Kind of Truth and we’re assuming that the graphic above is the album cover.

All reports from last night’s tiny show have been glowing and all of those reports have been, to this writer, very annoying because I’m super-jealous. Well, I guess my invitation got lost in the mail.

Anyway, here’s a pic of last night’s setlist, courtesy of my pal, Katherine Turman. From what I hear, they didn’t get to the last two songs on the list.

On Tuesday, we’ll see the release of the first single “Tattoo” from the new Van Halen album, their first with David Lee Roth since 1984’s well, 1984! And the tour dates, including two dates at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, have been announced and will go on sale soon. Check them out here. And how fucking cool is it that Kool & the Gang will open select dates of the tour?! Only DLR-helmed Van Halen would do that.
