Superfly Presents:
The Great Googa
Mooga in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park

Superfly, the creators of the mighty Bonnaroo Music Festival, which (along with Coachella) seems to lead the pack in American music festivals, are bringing a brand-new festival to Brooklyn’s Prospect Park in May. But not only is The Great Googa Mooga a music festival, it will also be a food and drink fest.

In fact, none of the musical acts have been announced yet, but many of the food and spirits vendors have. They include some of the best of New York: Baohaus, Big Gay Ice Cream, Blue Ribbon, Brindle Room, Char No. 4, Co., Cookin’ With Coolio, Colicchio & Sons, DBGB Kitchen and Bar, Dirty Bird To Go, Do or Dine, Frankies 457 Spuntino, Hill Country Barbecue Market, Joseph Leonard, The Meat Hook, The Lobster Place, Luke’s Lobster, M. Wells, Mile End, Minetta Tavern, Momofuku Milk Bar, Porchetta, Red Rooster, Russ & Daughters, Roberta’s, Simply Chicken by Jean-Georges, The Spotted Pig, Sullivan St Bakery, Third Rail Coffee Shop, Tia Pol, & Vinegar Hill House.

At the wine tasting tent, curated by Paul Grieco of Hearth, Terroir and Summer of Riesling, there will be over 100 wines to imbibe (hopefully not all in one sitting). And the beer tasting pavilion, curated by Brooklyn Brewery brewmaster, Garrett Oliver, will feature over 30 different domestic and foreign craft beer makers.

And the Great Googa Mooga is pioneering a new ticketing scheme for festivals. It’s either free or $249.50. Obviously there are many perks to paying, but it’s pretty damn cool that for free, you can get into the festival and see all the live music acts! Check out more info on the pricing right here.

The Great Googa Mooga happens May 19th and 20th in Prospect Park, just a few blocks north of my apartment! I’m sure we’ll be seeing a rollout of musical acts who will be performing in the next few weeks. Stay tuned…
