Cold Cave prep new singles and Spring tour dates

Wes Eisold’s dark synthpop group Cold Cave have announced plans that include new singles through Heartworm Press, as well as a tour that will bring him through much of Asia before coming home to the states.

It’s been a busy year for Wes Eisold and his band Cold Cave so far. And it looks like he plans on keeping things that way. In late January news came of a new single that would be released on Deathwish Records, a label run by Jacob Bannon (of Converge) and Tre McCarthy and known for their hardcore acts.

The release features two tracks, “Oceans With No End” b/w “People Are Poison.” For the songs, Eisold wrote and performed each alone without any other band members. The single is currently available for pre-order through Deathwish Records.

Earlier this week, Eisold shared more information regarding the state of the band, as well as new songs and tour dates. He explained that Cold Cave is no longer under contract with any record label. While he is currently working on a new album, the follow up to 2011’s Cherish The Light Years, there is no current release date in mind nor label to release it. He continued to say that he is happy with the music he is creating by himself and releasing the songs as singles.

Furthering the idea of releasing singles, Eisold detailed two new singles that would be released via his Heartworm Press. The first is “Black Boots” b/w “Meaningful Life” and will be available for pre-order soon. To go along with the record, Eisold also shot a video directed by Slava Tuskerman (Liquid Sky) for “Black Boots.” The second release will be a picture disc for a new song called “God Made The World.” The digital version will feature a second track, an instrumental, named “Dandelion.” Eisold adds that all of the songs were written, performed, and recorded by himself. As if the two new singles were not enough, a third pressing of last year’s “A Little Death To Laugh” will be arriving shortly via Heartworm Press as well.

To go along with the new releases, Cold Cave will be hitting the road beginning in April. The tour will see Eisold travelling through Japan, South Korea, China, India, and Nepal. A 12-date US/Canada leg is then scheduled for the month of June. Here in Philadelphia, he will make a stop at Morgan’s Pier for a free (!!) show on June 19th. There is no word yet on who, if anyone, will be touring alongside Eisold as part of Cold Cave. While on tour as Cold Cave, Eiswold will also play two shows with his old hardcore band American Nightmare (aka Give Up The Ghost) in Chicago and Toronto. Currently, these are the only dates scheduled this year for American Nightmare. International and North American dates for both Cold Cave and American Nightmare are listed below.
