TVD Dual Video Premiere: Twelve A.M. Flowers, “Dark Rose” and “A Luxury Squeeze”

Those of you with sharp memories will recall Twelve A.M. Flowers’ track “Ninety Goodnights” as a finalist in our TVD500 contest where we solicited tracks from you to press to vinyl. The band returns to your frequencies today with 2 brand new, self-released tracks as tight and accomplished as their TVD500 entry, which we’re delighted to debut today.

“My love of vinyl began as a youngster when I’d snatch my folks Beatles records and try to play them on my Fisher Price turntable. Much to their dismay the albums did actually play, but they became a bit damaged afterward. Seeing my behavior wasn’t going to stop any time soon, they ended buying me my very own little turntable I could mangle as I pleased.

I would always try to trace the logos or images on many of the albums I owned when I was just getting my obsession going. There are countless indentations and pen creases all over some of my earliest purchases, which I still own and lug around with me in my endless quest to keep switching apartments and move cities—most notably Iron Maiden’s Number of the Beast, Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Ozzy’s Blizzard of Ozz, and Queen’s News of the World.

Everything about vinyl just makes me a happier participant in the absorption of the music. I love having to get up and turn the record. Lifting the needle bears is its own ritualistic mark on me.

I doubt I’ll ever ditch my collection or stop building it up no matter how slowly it may grow at some points. Plus, the shitty ones make great frisbees…”
