The Single Girl:
The Birthday Suit,
“Uh-huh Uh-huh”

The Birthday Suit’s latest single “Uh-huh Uh-huh” showcases the band’s fuzzy side and harks back to guitarist Rod Jones’ Idlewild roots.

The single is taken from the band’s second album A Conversation Well Rehearsed and is a departure from “Less Worthless Years,” the first single released from the album last summer. “Uh-huh Uh-huh” is crunchy, spiky, and gloriously ramshackle indie rock, a sound that Idlewild honed well back in the day and you can hear this shine through Rod’s perfectly executed riffs. It’s his knack for wielding what may at first sound like a wall of messy noise into something that’s actually played with perfect precision.

“Uh-huh Uh-huh” shows that Rod’s not ready to turn the volume down just yet and his talent for writing an angular alternative rock tune is still ever-present. The Birthday Suit mean business and they’re here to stay.
