TVD Vinyl Giveaway: Monument Music Festival, Suckers, and Rewards Prize Pack

Monument Music Festival is quickly becoming synonymous with awesome shows to benefit awesome causes, and tonight’s DC9 show featuring Frenchkiss/IAMSOUND/Spunk’s Suckers and DFA’s Rewards to benefit Common Good City Farm is certainly no exception.

If you’ve already purchased tickets for tonight’s show, you’ve scored the biggest pre-halloween treat imaginable, but if you’re still on the fence for tonight, not only does your ticket benefit Common Good City Farm, whose mission is to to grow food, educate, and help low-income DC community members meet their food needs, but you’ll get to see two of Brooklyn’s finest bands, and there’s no pressure to wear a costume (although I always encourage it).

If you need any further convincing, let’s let Suckers convince you:

And Rewards would like to make the following public service announcement:

“Equal Dreams” features Solange Knowles, which explains why you can catch a glimpse of Rewards at the 1:15-ish mark in big sister Beyoncé’s brand spanking new vid, “Party (ft. J. Cole).”

Anyway, Monument, Suckers, and Rewards have all collaborated on the ultimate prize pack giveaway for the sweetest comment made on this post. Any one of you shall be graced with an always sexy Monument Music Poster (seen at the top), a Suckers Wild Smile LP (above), and a Rewards “Equal Dreams” 12 inch single.

The show’s line up makes me think of suckers as rewards at a carnival, you know, when you pick one, and if you get a colored dot on the bottom, you win a reward and a tasty treat.

Just tell us a song that’s a reward at the end of a long day, when you’ve been working like a sucker.

Duh, we’re going with that new Beyoncé jam.

We’ll pick the winner next Thursday (11/3), and as always, the winner must have a valid mailing address in the continental US or Canada.

James Blake's "Lindesfarne I" is like that last 10 minutes before the day's over, and as soon as it transitions into " Lindesfarne II", you have completed your work, it's like a huge exhale. whew!

Hot Chip's "Shake a Fist." No explanation needed. Just get lost in the headphones.

Gas - Untitled #4 (wolfgang voight)or the new deathgrips mixtape they're both pretty much the same thing

Delorean's "Grow" is equally effective played through headphones walking home or blasted on the stereo while drinking it off.

LCD's All my friends, perfect way to get home and relax after a day's work....but also perfect song to get pumped up to go out, after a hard day's work

LCD Soundsystem - US vs Them from the London Sessions vinyl

lcd soundsystem - drunk girls  (holy ghost remix) ....speaks for itself really ;)

"Work All Day" by Portugal. The Man. The soulful groove makes the daily grind more bearable.

Nothing makes me feel better after a long, annoying day than a little J Roddy Walston and The Business.  They have just enough rock and roll rage to cure the working man's blues.  Brave Man's Death is particularly curative.
