I woke up this morning in a sweat. It’s been unseasonably mild in Southern California these last couple weeks, but this morning as I laid nestled to my crashed-out eight year son, it was balmy. As my eyes opened and I thought about recent events. I held my precious child tight and prayed.
Thank god.
Per norm, my plan for last night (Thursdays) was to come home and finish cutting the IH. After two weeks of listening to classic rock, I was devoted to putting together a playlist of some of the coolest new records I’ve been listening to online. A idea quite simple—fresh tracks for the upcoming fall season. This task was no sweat. All I had to do was come home, finish the episode, and write this little blurb.
Then an invitation from co-workers came in and my plans were slightly altered. I ran to a screening of the new Nick Cave documentary One More Time With Feeling. The film has been called a “masterpiece of love and devastation” in which Cave opens up about the loss of his teenage son Arthur. The film is truly an incredible piece of art and music.
The Cave family is in my heart. It’s all I can think about.
