For the Roses by Joni Mitchell: Three close high school girlfriends got me this for my 19th birthday. It was at the very start of my obsession with Joni and her voice, songs, style and person.
Everytime I hear a song from it I can see her standing naked toward the sea on the inside panels of the vinyl. I also think of my friends who gave it to me and the lovely women of my life.

Stardust by Willie Nelson: I found this one for 50 cents in a Salvation Army store. It’s a 2 for 1, in that Willie is one of my favorite singers and guitarists of all time, and here he’s singing some of my favorite jazz standards. It’s so simple and sad.
