Max and the Moon:
The TVD First Date

“I want to say that I was raised on vinyl. I want to say that vinyl is the most amazing thing in the world and that if you don’t use it to listen to music you should probably go run into a knife. I also want to say that vinyl is the only way music should be pressed and exchanged.”

“The reason why I’m not going to say anything like that is because most enthusiasts already know these things.

I’m not an extremist by any means, but I do believe that everyone should own at least a couple of records, or know of someone you can steal them from. It’s like a jumbo sized cd that looks way more awesome, and can be doubled as a projectile for violent breakups or deterring a burglary (use only the bad ones.)

I’ve been collecting vinyl for a while now, and hunting for good records in a dump of a store is just as exciting as it was my first time. Once that cherry is popped, you get hooked immediately. The only thing I can say about it is the smell. I love the smell and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, go to a thrift store right now and grab the oldest vinyl, open it up, and take a nice whiff of that musical goodness.

There’s so much character in a record. There’s a look to it, a certain feel in the grooves and dropping the pin. There’s a smell to it, and even a taste if one is really curious (let me know how that goes.) It’s such a beautiful way to sit and enjoy music and I couldn’t imagine a better way to appreciate it.

I’m stoked it’s still a desired form of music and artists still value and appreciate it because there really is nothing quite like it.”
