UK Artist of the Week: Universal Thee

Universal Thee are bringing back ’90s indie rock with their recently released debut album Back To Earth. Their sound channels a vibe somewhere between the Pixies and Camera Obscura with catchy hooks and sweet vocals that won’t fail to make you smile.

Their recently released free track “Bear In The Hospital” is a perfect example of this ’90s inspired sound but it’s “Million Voices” that showcase an introspective underbelly.

They’re a band that have real promise to develop into a real class act and their debut effort feels like just the start of their musical journey.

This Edinburgh five-piece should be high on your list of new bands to check out especially if you’re missing that mid ’90s lo-fi, noise pop sound that bands like Yo La Tengo and Pavement made their own—you will not be disappointed.
