Grant Hart In-Store at Crooked Beat, 1/13

We’re holding a ticket giveaway at TVD Chapel Hill this week for Grant Hart’s show at Motorco, but our adoration of the former member of Hüsker Dü continues over here at TVD DC. We’ll be attending his in-store at Crooked Beat Records in Adams Morgan tomorrow night at 6pm. Hart will be holding a meet-and-greet and hopefully will sing a few songs.

Hüsker Dü formed in Minneapolis in 1979. While not commercially successful during their prolific career (during which they released six studio albums, two live albums, and two EPs) from 1979 to 1987, they went on to become one of the most influential bands of the Alternative era. Bands such as Nirvana, The Pixies, and Foo Fighters credit Hüsker Dü with being a major influence.

Grant Hart launched his solo career in 1988 with the release of the 2541 EP, and most recently, he released Hot Wax in 2009 after a ten-year hiatus. Hart will be playing at the Black Cat on Thursday night after his in-store at Crooked Beat.

Crooked Beat Records is located at 2116 18th St NW.
