TVD Ticket Giveaway: Fujiya & Miyagi at Rock and Roll Hotel, 3/24

British electro-rockers Fujiya & Miyagi hit up Rock and Roll Hotel on Thursday (3/24), and we’ve got a chance for you to win a pair of tickets.

Their fourth album Ventriloquizzing was just released January 25th on Yep Roc Records. David Best [Miyagi] (Vocals, Guitar) recently discussed the meaning of ventriloquizzing with Spinner, who call Fujiya & Miyagi’s albums “electronic joys… music that aims for the feet as much as the head.

It’s the idea that you can put ideas in other people’s mouths and the idea that when you see someone performing on stage it isn’t really their personality that you’re seeing. A lot of the songs are about control and if you listen to the album then it’s almost like a little bit of a puzzle that fits in with that idea of lack of control.

This explains the fantastically creepy doppelgänger puppets they use for their album trailer and the video they made for “Sixteen Shades of Black and Blue.”

On a happier note, Fujiya & Miyagi take their name from an old brand of stereo equipment and the sensei from Karate Kid.

To win the tickets, simply answer in the comments below, what is your favorite flick from the ’80s?

The winner will be chosen Tues (3/22) at 3pm.
