TVD Recommends:
The Dig at Red Palace, tonight, 10/3

There are different types of bands in this broad and musical world. There are bands that play stadiums. There are bands that play festivals. And then there are bands that play intimate shows. They play because they want to make eye contact and emotionally connect with you. The Dig is one of the latter bands. Their sophomore release Midnight Flowers (from Buffalo Jump Records) wants to get to know you, and Washington, DC’s Red Palace is just the place to hear them out.

Midnight Flowers shows that The Dig’s singers, Emile Mosseri and David Baldwin, have the brought their harmonizing skills to the next level, layering light vocals and melancholy guitar riffs over strong bass lines and entrancing drums by Erick Eiser and Mark Demiglio.

Their sound could be described as the backing tracks to daydreams. The perfect example of that auditory sensation is their first single, “I Already Forgot Everything You Said.”

The Dig have probably been in your life, whether you were day dreaming it or not. Their songs have been placed in the feature film, For A Good Time Call… as well as television shows such as Buried Life, Gossip Girl, and Vampire Diaries. They’ve also played shows with bands such as The Antlers, Portugal. The Man, and The Joy Formidable.

Even if you haven’t recalled their music yet, you deserve a good time out tonight at Red Palace, and the boys from The Dig will provide you with a show that will draw you in and create a lasting memory of it all. If you’re into their music enough (which you should be already), go ahead and buy their limited edition cassettes, and you’ll receive a digital download along with it.
