TVD Recommends:
Stop Worrying & Love the Bomb, Birthday Suits, The NVs at The Pinch tonight, 4/11

Alright, bozos. If you haven’t fit The Pinch into your rotation of places to see really good shows free, don’t get all pissed when I call you out for being lazy. It’s never too late to play catch up, though, and tomorrow I’ve got a few reasons for you to come out:

One: Sal Go. Two: City Slang Booking stamp of approval. Three: Duh, it’s FREE! (But really, it’s the music that motivates you, right?) You’ll see Stop Worrying & Love the BombBirthday Suits, and The NVs free.

Let me break it down for you.

We love Sal Go, so naturally we’re on board with her band. We also love ladies that kick ass and takes names, and Sal’s a busy lady with many projects. She’s involved in multiple bands, designs show posters, and has even written for TVD in the past. We wonder if there is anything she can’t do.

Tara Robles is City Slang Booking, and she is another lady worth hugging because she books so many of the garage/ punk/ rock and roll shows that keep this city cool. She told me recently she’s might be taking a break, but I know she’ll never really give up on us. We’re both really excited about The Los Vigilantes show at The Quarry House on April 21 because it’s going to be insane, so make sure to check it out.

Stop Worrying & Love the Bomb are proto-punk perfection. DC’s garage scene is bustling with new standouts, but SWALTB have been holding it down for years. Heavily influenced by CBGB/ Max’s Kansas City punk, pre-Good Charlotte pop-punk, and garage rock of all eras, you’ll get raw energy and Sal’s pretty face to look at all night. The songs are short and simple, with lyrics that range from hamburgers to labor strikes, performed with equal levels of passionate urgency and questionable pronunciation.

The Birthday Suits will bring raw fucking punk rock. All three bands at this show are a must-see, and Minneapolis duo The Birthday Suits are no exception; their live shows are rumored to be insane. Let the photo below do the talking.

Rock ‘n’ roll vandals The NVs will close out the night. Oh wait, whaaat? Sal Go’s in this band, too? WORD. Washington, DC’s latest features members of (Stop Worrying &) Love the Bomb, The Electrocutions (who are reuniting and playing at DC9 on April 25, and I’m DJing so you should go), Musicband, and Lady Cop.

Don’t fucking snooze on an awesome free show when it’s nice out, dummy.
