What’s up Memphis? This weekend is set up to rock your face all of the way off and then rock your faceless face some more.
With a long list of hardcore axe weilders, you’ll be reeling all week long from the head banging you won’t be able to resist this Friday and Saturday.
Friday (7/13) isn’t fucking around when it starts the weekend off on a heavy note. The New Daisy will play host to some great local acts, showing off how hot Memphis can get in the summer. (Seriously, it was 108° the other day.) Local rock acts 714, Collide Over Me, Pangea, and Chicago Skyline are all set to play. With lots of Memphis love going down, this is definitely a great way to start your weekend.
Moving things across town to The Hi-Tone Cafe, another slew of southern rockers are set to slay you. Iron Tongue comes representing Little Rock. Also billed are Louisville rockers Trophy Wives. Memphis rock acts Heavy Eyes, Tanks, and These Wolves are Robots fill out the already incredibly heavy line-up.
Saturday (7/14) keeps the dark guitar music theme with one hell of a tour tearing through Memphis. The Scream It Like You Mean It Tour has made its way across the states destroying every city it passes through. This leg is fronted by metal/screamo/core experts Attack Attack! and is hosted at The New Daisy.
Also featured is a long list of emotionally dense bands. Included are We Came As Romans, Woe, is Me, Abandon All Ships, Like Moths to Flames, Close to Home, Secrets, Glass Cloud, and At The Skylines. With such a long list of face-melters, it’s one hell of a deal for one ticket.
With such a hot weekend of heated rock music, there’s gotta be some chill music somewhere to cool you down. Thankfully, Great Barrier Reefs have your back playing feel-good tuneage all night at The Hi-Tone Cafe. Known for their clever use of the steel pan drum, these guys are covered in island vibes that’ll have you relaxing in no time. Agori Tribe and The Apollo! Project will fill out the bill, giving you the perfect thing to kick back to after a weekend of face-meltitude.
