Free Download: Electro-Rock-Funk Somewhere Between Daft Punk and The Rolling Stones

I get a lot of music sent to me on a weekly basis from PR folks, record companies, etc., and don’t always have time to listen to everything. Thank the hipster gods of all things electro-rock that I clicked on the track I am about to give you now as a free download.

If you know a girl who listens to “metal music” then have fun with this. It’s not metal, but it takes the cliched idea of a metal chick and runs with it. I must have played this song 15 times in a row after hearing it for the first time and I have no doubt that you will have it on repeat as well.

The band is called Strength and they are based out of Portland by way of The Bay Area. They are a trio of art students who went to house parties in Oakland where rock bands played during their college days. The three of them noticed that the party really never go going until the band was done and the DJ started playing. They started an electro-funk band, named it Strength, and started writing some seriously dance-able rock music that many critics have called Daft Punk meets The Rolling Stones.

Strength – Metal

Last year they toured with Starf*cker and The Octopus Project and 2011 seems kind of wide open for the band. Let’s help them out by spreading this undeniably catchy track to those who appreciate wit and the perfect placement of the double clap in a song……”clap clap”

The band’s latest album Mind-Reader is a slick production of all things that make you want to rock and dance at the same time. Put this thing on, turn it up loud, have some fun and get your weekend started early.

Your thoughts? Did you enjoy this track as much as I did? Download it and share it!
