Greetings from the road!
We Californians are a “driving lot.” Like it or not, we live part of our lives behind a steering wheel. Thinking about it, the truth is I often conceive the Idelic Hour while “cruisin” in the car. These last few days “cruise” has been my operative mode. I’ve been driving up and down the California coast and in fact this broadcast was actually made roadside.
Putting together this playlist, I reflected on one of those long, solo drives as opposed to the kind of mix I might have made for “cruisin the strip” on a Friday night. The set starts in the heartland and eventually builds into a San Francisco arrival.
