TVD Vinyl Giveaway: The Beach Boys’ SMiLE

No, you haven’t drifted off into a deep sleep with a “tropical drink melting in your hand,” this is the real deal. The Vinyl District is giving away the much anticipated SMiLE 2LP album from none other than the kings of ’60s beach pop, The Beach Boys.

“Wouldn’t It Be Nice” to win this fantastic prize? Ok, I’m done with the lyric puns…

Described by Rolling Stone as “The most famous unfinished album in rock & roll history,” SMiLE is a compiled collection of The Beach Boys’ legendary 1966-1967 sessions for the never-completed album. With complete participation from the original Beach Boys’ members Al Jardine, Mike Love, and Brian Wilson, Capitol/EMI has decided to release the unfinished product to the public for the first time, and the album is out tomorrow. Exciting, right?

As if the vinyl giveaway isn’t enough, to any of our readers in Los Angeles, you can catch Brian Wilson making a VERY rare appearance tomorrow, November 1st at 7PM, at Fingerprints Records in Long Beach to sign copies of The Beach Boys’ Smile Sessions!

Please note that an RSVP is required to attend by contacting the store at 562 433-4996 to pre-order SMiLE for priority entry. Space is limited so act fast.

Now, how do you go about winning the awesome SMiLE album? It’s simple! In the comments below, tell us what your absolute favorite Beach Boys song. The winner of this awesome prize can listen to it “by yourself maybe, or else with a special one.” Okay seriously, I’m done this time.

I think my favorite has to be “Surfin’ U.S.A” just for that one scene in the original Teen Wolf. You know the one I’m talking about. Michael J. Fox van surfing as the least threatening werewolf known to mankind? That one.

The winner will be chosen next Monday, November 7th, and must have a mailing address in the U.S. or Canada.
