The New Union:
The TVD First Date

“Everything that is great in modern popular music started in some way on vinyl; the capturing of vibrations in the air creating grooves and those grooves then reproducing the intended sound with the least interference is amazingly simple, but for quality has never been bettered.”

“Hearing it as it is meant to be heard. The intent of the artist being as clear as being in the room with them. Vinyl has never been superseded. Cassettes, mini discs, and now CDs have been replaced by easily accessible or cheaper options, So those of us who enjoy the hunt for those albums—we just have to have people—always have made our way back to the original, vinyl.

As chain record stores begin to struggle with the downturn in CD sales and the lack of variety that’s stocked, people have begun to look for alternatives with a lot of bands returning to the format for the sheer quality of sound. The listeners? We will only see the resurgence of vinyl continue.

There is a whole history to it all, from old Son House records to The Doors through Peter Gabriel to Fleetwood Mac being passed on by parents to their children, which is how I and many others first got a taste for vinyl and why it will alway be very important to me and many others who are hooked on the black wax.

To have the opportunity to release a 7″ single through Two Sisters is just one of those things in life to tick off the bucket list. Just to be a very small footnote on such an iconic part of the music industry is amazing. Getting our own little piece of the action couldn’t be anymore exciting.

Collecting records is only bested by the seeing the band you adore live and sharing in the moment. From the artwork to the tactile experience of placing the needle on a brand new record, there is no better way to enjoy music. There is no shuffle, no suggested listening— it’s something you have found and enjoyed, and it happens with every record. Nothings better.”
Alex Leeder, Bass

The New Union’s debut single, “Without You” is available on limited edition 7″ vinyl on October 8th.
