Ghostpoet:
The TVD First Date

“Vinyl collecting for me has become a necessity as I get older, it feels like a natural instinct.”

“Do I crave the physicality, touch, smell of an LP? Or, am I just becoming a pursuer of superior sound as grey starts to speckle my beard one annoying strand at a time…who knows. I guess that’s the mystery of a record, it holds magic amongst its grooves.

I collect all types of records—Psych-Funk, Jazz, Folk, Electronica, Indie, Trance, Blues, Dance, whatever. I like just digging and purchasing stuff from little indie shops when I get the chance and when I’m not broke.

My current fave records are Dr. John’s Gris Gris, Radiohead’s Amnesiac, Laura Marling’s Once I was A Eagle, Rodriguez’s Searching For Sugar Man compilation, and the Muddy Waters and Rolling Stones LP called The Ultimate Sweet Home Chicago.

Ones I wish I own would be Rodriguez’s Cold Fact, Sex Pistols’ “God Save The Queen,” Black Dog’s Bytes, Photek’s Modus Operandi, Pharoah Sanders’ The Impulse Story, and Squarepusher’s Hard Normal Daddy.”

Ghostpoet’s “Meltdown” EP was released in June via Play It Again Sam.
