Greetings from Laurel Canyon!
Tis the season to be jolly? Actually, not quite yet.
Personally, I feel the need for a break in the action. Can’t we just call it Thanksgiving week already? I say, let’s start the “gifting” early with songs. “Tis the season to share.” Maybe even show a little pre-Thanksgiving gratitude? Why not sing a friend or loved one a song?
The concept of “sharing music” is a loaded one in this here Idelic millennium. As far as I’m concerned, music is a gift from the godz. Whether is should be sold or given freely, I don’t know. What I do know is the value of a song these days feels more about how much you wanna give it than how much you wanna buy it.

Throughout the history of singing songs, interpreting or “covering” a tune has been the ultimate tribute to the art of song writing. Dig this, I would bet at any moment of the day, somewhere in the world, someone is singing a Beatles song to a friend. In my Idelic “tis the season for sharing” hour set alone I’ve dropped four Beatles songs.
This week’s playlist had a simple task; enjoy a good old cover tune and celebrate a great song. No artist or tune is too old or new!
