UK Artist of the Week: Homework

We never expected Edinburgh to be the epicentre of indie synth pop, but Homework are certainly putting the scenic city on the map. Their album 13 Towers is ready to be unleashed today, 25th March, but in the meantime we’d like to present them as this week’s Artist of the Week.

You wouldn’t have thought it listening to their tracks, but the album was actually recorded in a lighthouse over a few weekends. It’s an amazing thing that their razor sharp sound was created in such a strange place. “It’s All Over” was the recent single released from the album, which featured robotic vocals and mesmerizing beats.

The band are already being touted as Scotland’s next saviours of the indie electro scene and it’s not hard to see why with fans coming from BBC Radio 1 and 6Music and recent shows supporting Suuns, Wave Machines, and The D.O.T (Mike Skinner of The Streets.) These guys prove there’s more to Scotland’s capital than just a pretty castle.
